Our Purpose

The purpose of the church is identical to the purpose of the Church revealed in the New Testament:
To proclaim to, and persuade others that, "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God" by both testimony
and example, that they might be saved.
To instruct and nurture those who are already Christians, that they may grow in the grace and knowledge of
the Son of God and become mature, attaining the full measure of perfection found in Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

Our Preaching

The preaching here is always from the Bible, which we believe with absolute conviction, is the Word of God — not just that it contains the Word of God. We accept and preach both the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God.

We take seriously the charge to "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage -- with great patience and careful instruction" (II Timothy 4:2); believing that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (II Timothy 3:16-17)

Our Plan

The Bible teaches that to belong to the church and belonging to Christ are one and the same. The same thing that makes you a Christian makes you a part of the Church. When we examine the examples of conversion in the New Testament (Acts 2; 8; 9; 10; 16), we find that no waiting period was required, no catechism involved, no "experience" asked for, and no voting on the candidate's acceptability necessary.

In the New Testament, when one was convinced that Jesus was the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the Living God and the Savior of men, then the believer was urged to respond in that faith by repenting of past sins, by confessing their faith in Christ, and by being baptized. These acts do not constitute works of merit, but are simple responses to the grace of God.

The scriptures teach that there are two ordinances Christ has given the Christian church to observe. In the strictest sense, these are not "church ordinances," but are ordinances of our Lord. They are:

Baptism
Baptism is for the repentant believer and is for the remission of sins (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4). We practice and accept only total immersion as baptism ("baptize" is literally a Greek word meaning "immersion").

Communion
Communion, or "the Lord's Supper" is observed every Lord's Day in remembrance of Him (Matthew 26:26-28; Acts 20:7, I Corinthians 11:2, 23-26).

Our Plea

The reason for our existence is not just to be another denomination, for the church is already too sadly divided.
Believing that the confusion within the church today is contrary to the will of Christ, we have no  denominational
name, organization, or creed. Our only authority is the divine authority vested in the Holy Scriptures.

We do not claim to be the only Christians -- just Christians only! We plead for a name (Christian) that all followers
of Christ can wear (Acts 11:26); a creed to whom all Christians can give allegiance (Christ, in Matthew 16:16);
a baptism (believer's immersion) which is universal (Romans 6:1-5); a church in which all Christians can live
(II Peter 1:5-10); and a power (the indwelling Holy Spirit) all are to have (Romans 8:9).

Our plea is to unite all people who believe in God, accept the Bible as His revealed word of truth and accept
Jesus Christ as His Son and their Savior. Our aim is to speak where the Scriptures speak and to be silent
where the Scriptures are silent (I Corinthians 1:10-12) for God's Word is the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice.

Our People

People sincerely committed to Christ are the heart of this church's existence. Visitors have often commented
on the friendly welcome they have received here. We believe that friendliness is an important attribute of a
people who truly love the Lord. You always visit us as a respected guest and will receive a warm welcome from
our people.

We are not only friendly, but concerned as well. People are important to us. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, Macedonia Christian Church exists . . .
 • To let people know that they matter to God.
 • To let people know that they matter to us.
